If the old crowns - metall nad porcelain - does not have a 100% enclosure by the gum, so the metall selvedge is visible, we should change them. Now we have a new technology - Zirkonzahn - in our dental Clinic. These new zirconium crowns do not contain metall, so therefore the aesthetics of these crowns is silmilar to the normal teeth, with time it will be no matall selvedge, like by the metall-porcelain crowns.
Thanks to the strength of the zirconium - oxide we only have to use minimal preparation, there is no need to remove unnecessary healhy tooth meterial!
